AP Calculus
The AP Calculus Exam comes in two separate formats depending on the course in which you are enrolled. The AP Calculus AB exam covers the fundamentals of derivatives, limits, and integrals, while the AP Calculus BC exam covers the same basics but with some additional concepts. Students taking the BC exam can expect to see questions regarding integration by parts, parametric equations, vector calculus, polar coordinate functions, Taylor series, and curve interpolations. The College Board does not classify Calculus AB as a prerequisite for Calculus BC; however, it is highly recommended for students to pursue these courses sequentially.
Success on either AP Calculus exam requires students to have a strong foundation in lower level mathematics, including algebra, trigonometry, and geometry. HYE Tutors prepares students for this advanced exam by offering students a detailed curriculum that covers concepts in all of these areas. By doing so, our students have a strong set of skills to apply while taking the exam and tackle complex problems strategically. Our highly skilled tutors accomplish this by offering clients personalized attention and focusing on whichever areas of mathematics they struggle with.
The nature of both AP Calculus exams calls for a broad understanding of the academic year’s calculus curriculum, but strict memorization is not an effective way to prepare. HYE Tutors works with students to help them understand everything from introductory concepts of calculus to advanced principles. HYE Tutors can help you master your material either in-person, at our Los Angeles office, or remotely on Zoom. Call us today to discuss what aspects of calculus your student is struggling with, and the HYE Tutors team can place them with an educator who will give them the tools they need for future success.
