AP English Language and Composition

The AP English Language and Composition course introduces students to advanced forms of structuring arguments and analyzing texts. Here, students are expected to develop critical thinking skills, explain ideas and persuade assigned arguments. Students will learn close reading, writing evidence-based arguments and revising different pieces of writing. Along with the multiple-choice reading sections, students will be expected to write essays, each of a different type: synthesis, passage analysis and argument. For effective results, students practice extensive essay writing throughout their AP English Language course.
