AP US History
The AP U.S. History course is designed to introduce high school students to similar history topics as would be found in a university U.S. History course. Topics include developments in the United States from the Founding Fathers to the contemporary period. The course covers social, economic, political and cultural developments that shaped the nation. Starting from Native American societies, developing into the period of colonialization, slavery, its abolition, demographic shifts and eventually, modern civil rights movements and contemporary developments in American politics, students cover a wide variety of interesting and challenging topics.
Whether you are taking AP U.S. History out of curiosity or as a challenge, HYE Tutors is here to help. As Los Angeles’ premiere tutoring service, our staff of experienced tutors can address all of your questions, regardless of your educational background. We help our students develop a clear understanding of U.S. History by answering any questions they may have, providing additional context, and focusing on timelines to ensure they have a chronological idea of their coursework. Like other tutoring methods for the Humanities, history requires one-on-one conversation with students in areas where they may have specific questions. The goal of these conversations is to engage students in analytical thinking and assess their understanding of how various events have shaped modern-day life. Our tutors also offer students multiple exercises that require students to use their reading comprehension and critical thinking skills. These will prove to be particularly important for students as they prepare for the AP exam and other standardized tests.
