Geometry

Geometry is one of the oldest branches of mathematics, and regularly appears throughout a student’s studies from elementary school to higher education. This area focuses on the properties of shapes, size, distance, dimensions, and positions of angles. Geometry is usually studied in high school, specifically in the 10th grade; however, basic concepts of geometry are covered in lower levels of mathematics as well. Students’ understanding of geometry is rooted in their study of shapes and angles in elementary and middle school, therefore creating a wide range of ages for them to master these principles.

Our staff of tutors approaches geometry’s concepts by beginning with fundamentals that appear in lower algebra. After ensuring that students have a firm understanding of geometry’s introductory concepts, tutors work with students to focus on challenging areas. Concepts that we cover include, but are not limited to, geometric properties with equations, geometric measurement & dimension, modeling, right angles & trigonometry, similarity, circles, and congruence. Our curriculum has been carefully designed to provide full coverage of geometric concepts for students at various levels.

Whether you are looking for help on a current course or preparing for standardized tests, HYE Tutors can help you master your material either in-person, at our Los Angeles office, or remotely on Zoom. We are committed to working with students of all backgrounds and locations. Call us today to discuss which areas of Geometry pose challenges for your student, and the HYE Tutors team will place them with an educator who will give them the tools they need for future success.
