PreCalculus
Precalculus is a collection of topics that cover concepts in algebra, trigonometry, and geometry to prepare students for studying calculus. This course generally appears in the final two years of high school. Precalculus is particularly important for students planning on studying quantitative data in higher education and future careers, therefore making it a valuable subject to master. Our staff at HYE Tutors believes that success in Precalculus requires a strong foundation in all lower levels of mathematics and a well-rounded approach to the material at hand.
Precalculus usually does not cover calculus concepts, but rather places a strong emphasis on algebraic and trigonometric concepts. We work with students to master polynomials, inverse elements, identity elements, binary operations, sets, and more in our extensive algebra curriculum before moving onto more advanced algebraic material. Trigonometry, or the study of angles and triangles, is later incorporated into our personalized tutoring services to complete a student’s foundation for calculus. Regardless of when a student advances to Precalculus in secondary school, our tutors are trained to ensure our clients can successfully grasp these concepts before tackling higher-level mathematics.
Whether you are looking for help on a current course or preparing for standardized tests, HYE Tutors can help you master your material either in-person, at our Los Angeles office, or remotely on Zoom. We are committed to working with students of all backgrounds and locations. Call us today to discuss which areas of Precalculus pose challenges for your student, and the HYE Tutors team will place them with an educator who will give them the tools they need for future success.
