Calculus
Calculus is a branch of mathematics that covers the changes between different values that are related to each other by a function. Often attributed with Sir Isaac Newton’s studies, this area of mathematics applies to a wide range of industries and modern technologies. This ultimately makes calculus an important subject for students interested in entering fields that deal with quantitative data and engineering. Calculus is usually introduced in the latter years of high school if a student has successfully completed Algebra II and Precalculus.
There are two variations of calculus that are studied today: differential and integral calculus. Differential calculus allows us to calculate the rate of change of one variable in comparison to another. This is often seen with concepts like distance and time, and how they change in relation to each other. Integral calculus focuses on finding the area underneath a graph of a function. Both areas of calculus are innately related, and a student’s struggle grasping one area might directly affect their understanding of the other. Our staff at HYE Tutors understands that equally covering both sides to calculus is crucial to mastering the material.
Whether you are looking for help on a current course or preparing for standardized tests, HYE Tutors can help you master your material either in-person, at our Los Angeles office, or remotely on Zoom. We are committed to working with students of all backgrounds and locations. Call us today to discuss which areas of Calculus pose challenges for your student, and the HYE Tutors team will place them with an educator who will give them the tools they need for future success.
