CHSPE Exam

The CHSPE is a test offered to students in the state of California who are interested in an early exit from high school. Instead of a high school diploma, students who pass the exam receive the equivalent Certificate of Proficiency by the California State Board of Education. The exam is meant to assess a student’s mastery of a standard high school curriculum which includes mathematics, quantitative reasoning, analytical reading, and writing. While everyone’s educational background and circumstances are different, we understand that the stakes are high for the examinee. That is why we have compiled a thorough CHSPE test prep curriculum that addresses a student’s specific needs with precision and personalized attention. HYE Tutors’ dynamic approach to standardized testing makes us Los Angeles’ premiere  CHSPE test prep service.

The CHSPE consists of three sections: a Mathematics section and an English-Language section that is broken up into two subsections called Reading & Language with Writing. The exam’s mathematics section covers standard high school math and consists of 50 questions in 4 parts. Students can expect to be tested on algebra, geometry, statistics, probability and more. Our trained math tutors focus on the areas of mathematics that a student struggles with the most and help them sharpen their skills prior to exam day.

The exam’s English section is a total of 132 questions and covers areas like grammar, syntax, reading comprehension and critical reasoning. We help students sharpen their reading comprehension skills by providing them with practice exercises to quickly analyze text. Additionally, the examinee is given three and a half hours to write the exam’s essay. We help our students practice both their analytical and argumentative skills to properly craft a thesis statement. Other skills we focus on at HYE Tutors include critical thinking, sentence structure, and vocabulary usage. Call our Los Angeles office today to schedule an appointment for our extensive CHSPE prep services. We are looking forward to working with new students and providing them with the resources they need to achieve their ideal test scores.
