GMAT Exam
The GMAT is a standardized test accepted by universities all over the world, including those in the Americas, EMEA countries and the APAC region. It is an entrance exam to a graduate management program, like an MBA. The GMAT requires skills in reading, writing, grammar and the application of math skills in algebra, geometry and arithmetic. As a 3-hour exam, the GMAT tests skills in quantitative reasoning, verbal reasoning, integrated reasoning and analytical writing. While the importance of one’s GMAT score may vary amongst graduate programs, we understand what the stakes are for many of our students. That is why we have compiled a thorough GMAT test-prep curriculum that addresses a student’s specific needs with precision and personalized attention. HYE Tutors’ dynamic approach to standardized testing makes us Los Angeles’ premiere GMAT test-prep service.
The GMAT is a computer-based exam that consists of four sections, the order of which may be chosen by the test taker. The sections consist of analytical writing, integrated reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and a verbal section. Students can expect to cover geometry, arithmetic, and algebra while preparing for the exam. Our team of experienced tutors have broken down the exam into manageable sections and work closely with our students to cover both basic and complex concepts.
The exam’s verbal reasoning section consists of 36 questions and covers areas like vocabulary, reading comprehension and critical reasoning. We help students sharpen their reading comprehension skills by practicing exercises to quickly analyze text. HYE Tutors works with students to master the basics of grammar for exam day, as well as practice exercises to improve their skills in spotting errors. Our goal at HYE Tutors is to not only make sure you know where to place a comma, but that you can also identify well-written passages.
The GMAT’s quantitative reasoning section covers standard high school mathematics and consists of 31 questions. Additionally, the integrated reasoning section includes data and statistical analysis. Our trained math and statistics tutors highlight the areas of mathematics that a student struggles with the most, and help them sharpen their skills prior to exam day.
Lastly, the analytical writing portion of the exam requires one essay. We help our students practice both their analytical and argumentative skills to properly craft a thesis statement. Other skills we focus on at HYE Tutors include critical thinking, sentence structure, and vocabulary usage.
